Bussolengo’s Best hotel! – by Dr. Michael Lim from Singapore
Rating: 9/10 – Type of traveller: Business Traveller – Age Group: 31 – 40 – Stay: April 2005
As Dr. Michael Lim The Travelling Gourmet, my motto is "Have Pen, Will Travel". I travel the world in search of good food good wines and good sights and places to write about. Recently, in April 12005, I was in Verona as a guest of the Italian government. I was a Wine Judge in the prestigious Concorso Enologico Internazionale Vinitaly. Vinitaly is the world’s largest exhibition of wines and spirits and is biogger than its rival in France called Vinexpo. I had the pleasure of staying in the Tower Hotel Bussolengo which is a little town just out of the centre of old Verona. Here, it is very laid back and tranquil and there is a nearby shopping center and it is a really nice area to stay. I like the location and also the travel time to Verona is not long. Also it is really near Lago di Garda and Bardolino. I could drive to Bardolino in aboput 25 minutes to watch the sun rise over the lake. The hotel is modern and looks beautifully red due to the special anti heat glass on the windows. It looks stunning in the sunset. Room sare big ans I love the big bathtub so I can soak like the ancient Romans did. Food is good too especially breakfast and I like the dinner menu especially the beef. The Maitre d’ in the restaurant is really helpful and very courteous. The lobby is very large and in the mornings I love to jog to the park nearby before a hearty breakfast. During my stay I met Elizbeth Montresor whose Famiglia own the Montresor Group of hotels in Italy. A really charming and beautiful lady with a ravishing smile as warm as the Italian sun, I was honoured and pleased to meet her. I hope to stay here again sometime in the future. I can recommend this hotel to the business or leisure traveller without hesitation. Enjoy! By Dr. Michael Lim The Travelling Gourmet who is a renowned Travel, Food and Wine Writer from Singapore
