Best Tua Pow in the East!

MOST people love to eat pow and I am no exception. I have discovered a very yummy Tua Pow in a remote part of eastern Singapore which you must try. It is in the newly renovated  Block 538, Bedok North Street 3 Market and Food Center. The HDB spent 4 million to renovate it!

Jason, the owner and chef of this Tim Sum stall and his wife wake up at 4am daily to make his delicious Tim Sum! His menu includes Tua Pow, Char Siew Pow, Har Kow, Siu Mai and many more. His Pow and Tim Sum  are all lovingly hand made, I kid you not. They are not the mediocre factory produced ones you find in Kopi Tiams all over sunny Singapore. At S$1.40 for a big Tua Pow as big as ‘Iron Mike’ Tyson’s fist, why stop at one, have 2 or 3 or 4! It has lots of juicy meat inside and one quarter of a hard boiled egg and is very flavoursome. Ah, I long for the good old days when a Tua Pow had ONE WHOLE boiled egg inside. The Har Kow is not bad although the skin is somewhat thick at 3mm. However, the cute Char Siew Pows (70cents each) are very nice and excellent for a tea time snack with a piping hot cup of black coffee. There is also Lor Mai Gai with glutinous rice if you like something more filling.

Tua Pow with egg!

Guten Appetit and KA-POW!!! {:-)
