The intrepid Travelling Gourmet indulges in his hedonistic urges at Golden Village Vivo City…
MISANTROPE, pauper, rich man or poor, everyone likes and enjoys a bit of hedonism now and again. With this in mind, I went to watch “Morning Glory starring Harrison “Indiana Jones” Ford, ravishing Rachel Macadams and old but still bold Diane “Something’s gotta give” Keaton. This intellectual and stimulating comedy set in New York (actually I loathe most New Yorkers) tells of the trails and tribulaitons of a young “married to her job” TV Morning show producer who finally makes it big in the Big Apple!
The movie was all the more enjoyable because I did not sit in a row with lots of total strangers, but was with family and friends in a super plush, ultra comfy reclinable arm chair like those on 1st class in Emirates…It had an illuminated green button to summon my own butler for anything I might fancy, like popcorn, a cocktail, Cabernet Sauvignon red wine… There is even a built in holder…no, not for your Coca Cola BUT for a bottle of wine, or perhaps Dom Perignon Champagne.
However, I am going ahead of myself because before I even stepped in ot the VIP Gold Class cinema which seats ONLY 38, I had a wonderful set dinner in the Gold Class Lounge which really reminded me of the CIP Lounges for 1st Class passengers at airports like CIA. Its Austin Powers decor with flying saucer like lamps and orange motifs is so cool!
Pumpkin & Caipiranha
Sipping on my powerful yet refreshing Caipiranha cocktail, helpful Erna, the nice waitress appeared and served my my starter. Piping hot pumpkin soup drizzled with sour cream had a lovely velvety texture plus a good presentation ( I have been trained by CIA and 3 Michelin Star Chefs).
I tasted the crisp vegetarian spring rolls which were “yum yum” too and not oily at all! I thought in my mind: “Dad would have liked this. Yes, my late father was a real hedonist who lived life to the full!” Their Golden ‘Buffalo” chicken wings also deserve a bite!
I want a BIG BURGER!
My main course was a titanic burger with 160 g of beef plus all the trimmings served on German Rosenthal poreclainware. The chunky wedge french fries were splendid. I elected to have dessert and coffee in the cinema to savour while watching the movie.
La Dolce Vita!
Ah, this is “la dolce vita” just like that Federico Fellini classic set in Roma. I really recommend you treat your yourself to this gastronomically advantaged cinematic experience with your friends and family. As I relished every morsel of my blueberry cheese cake, feeling like the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius, I made a promise to myself to return…very soon.
ENJOY! {:-)
