The resourceful Travelling Gourmet flies to Adelaide in South Australia to attend Tasting Australia 2012…
MARVELLOUS hassle free check in at Row 4 of Changi International Airport’s Terminal 3 by Check in Agent Rhona Manito. Now I am strolling around the spacious shopping and dining areas of the Departure Hall. I am looking forward to flying on SIA’s Flight SQ 279 from Singapore to Adelaide. I am assigned aisle seat 36D. I like to sit in the aisle seat so I can move about and get some exercise during the flight. Very important for the blood circulation during a long flight. Also good for the digestion.
2245 and I am in the Kris Flyer Gold Class Lounge enjoying a glass of supple and not tannic Coteaux du Languedoc 2010 and a light meal plus a Bloody Mary. Very good with Sauteed Beef and Asparagus.
I am in Seat 36D in in the center aisle on the Port side. There was another strict security check at Gate A2 of Duty Free items bought from other countries like Bali which it seems the Australian passengers flying to Adelaide like to bring on baord. Es ist verboten -it is not allowed! Only Duty Free items under the Liquids, Aerosols and Gas rules bought in Singapiore are allowed. A PRC China woman had a big and long argument with the Security Officer over her restricted items and she had to open up her bag to show all the bottles of stuff! Typisch kommunistische Schweine!
The flight was good with gentle and gracious service from svelte and pretty SIA flight stewardesses. What a contrast from the old, ugly and fat air hostesses from Quantas ans Air France. That is one reason why I never fly Air France and Quantas.
Cheers! {:-)
