The resourceful Travelling Gourmet finds Shangri-La down under …in Sydney…

MAGNIFICENT views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Harbour plus the iconic sea shell-like Sydney Opera House can make you swoon when you stay here in the Shangri-La Sydney. This is where the Prime Minister of Thailand, Yingluck stays when she is in Sydney. Its secluded entrance in the Rocks area is quiet and peaceful. I love this hotel and to wake up after snoozing like a happy baby…and see the marvellous view makes you start your day with a joyous smile. You can draw  or close the curtains of your suite at the touch of a button. One of the best features of the room is that the sockets are adapted for all manner of plugs so you do not need to use any adaptor plugs. Before a scrumptious breakfast in the opulent Horizon Lounge, I like to go for a jolly jog around the area to the Syney Harbour Bridge and just breathe in the salty fresh sea air! The luxurious Horizon Lounge also has Computers with internet access.

Horizon Lounge Breakfast – The chocolate “S” on the Cappuccino stands for Shangri-La!

I adore too the mind blowing Chi Spa and serene indoor swimming pool and gorgeous gym where I can burn Calories and rejuvenate and re-energise.

Fabulous FOOD!

The signature fine dining restaurant called Altitude is on the top floor. It serves French cuisine with a Mod-Oz twist with lovely wines, 36 floors above the Rocks. The seven course Epi-curious Menu is for the true blue gourmet who must try EVERYTHING! The beef, and seafood like lobsters and oysters are especially good. The Cheese platter selected by the Chef before dessert is worthy of mention.
If you are allowed to get very special VIP access to Level 37, the very highest floor just above the restaurant, the views of the environs are to kill for!

The intrepid Travelling Gourmet right at the very top of the Shangri-La Sydney!

At night, the city of Sydney sparkles as if it were covered with thousands of priceless diamonds. Mein guter Freund, the dynamic Austrian GM, Franz Donnhauser is one of the nicest gentlemen I have ever met.

Near the hotel just down the road is a shop that sells groceries & souvenirs at a youth hostel but I recommend you avoid it because the Indian owner is very rude, unhelpful and obnoxious.

Stay here for business and/or pleasure & you will start to understand what gracious living is all about…ENJOY La Dolce Vita in stunning Sydney!! {:-)

Hey there this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs
use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with
HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding skills so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  10. I was curious if you ever thought of changing the layout of your website?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people
could connect with it better. Youve got an awful
lot of text for only having one or 2 images.
Maybe you could space it out better?

  17. Hey there would you mind stating which blog platform
you’re using? I’m looking to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a hard time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking
for something completely unique. P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!

  19. First off I want to say great blog! I had a quick question in which
I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to know
how you center yourself and clear your head before writing.
I have had trouble clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out.
I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes
tend to be wasted simply just trying to figure out
how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Thanks!

  27. Hello there! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site?

I’m getting sick and tired of WordPress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m
looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the
    direction of a good platform.
