MOUTHWATERING L’Atelier de Joel Robouchon. Scarlet and black decor seduces and entices you into a world of French cuisine with a difference…

Amuse Bouche in a shot glass is the French answer to Chawan Mushi…sexy foie gras topped with airy Espuma. Incidentally, L’Atelier means ‘workshop’.

Classic Pate Encroute… a crusty foie gras pie with lashings of tasty amber aspic jelly inside. A dish to go on a hazardous covert mission in Syria for. Absolutely delicious with a glass of sparkling Bruno Pailliard NV Champagne!

Italian inspired Le Boeuf has lashings of peppery Arygula and three mm thick beef slices so moist, juicy and tender with pomodorini and baby green olives, crispy Lavosh strips an smooth as the finest Jim Thompson mash potato.

0.5mm in diameter Vermicelli with La Crevette with julienne of basil deep fried is palate pleasure personified. The ultra-crispy vermicelli lovingly enrobe the prawn which is just done to a tee.

A good Chef is like a great artist with painstaking attention to detail…Ein Chefkoch ist wie ein Kuenstler, alles muss perfekt sein…

IMG_4131 Chef Lorenz & The Travelling Gourmet

German Chef Lorenz is very meticulous and checks every dish before it is sent to the diners. The best seats in this red & black art decor restaurant are at the 7 faceted bar, where you can see all the action in the open kitchen as the Chef and his 9 assistants furiously cut, chop, grill, braise, blend, fry, plate and garnish! It is a theater of cuisine! You can see the difference between Chef Lorenz and a buffoon like unhygienic Jamie Oliver, as clear as the sky is bleu. Vive le difference!
