The irascible and indomitable Travelling Gourmet goes to the happiest place on Earth to celebrate its…

MAGNIFICENT 30th Anniversary! Located in Urayasu City just by the mysterious waters of Tokyo Bay, Tokyo Disney Resort comprises Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disneysea! I have been to many Disneylands in Anaheim, California, in Paris and in Walt Disney World Orlando Florida…and this Disney Resort is unequivocally one of the Best! The titanic area of 176 acres has the Arabian Coast, the Lost River Delta, Mediterranean Harbour, Mermaid Lagoon and more.

There is a sense of very positive energy and good vibrations here and everyone has a happy aura. At 9am when the theme park opens, the local Japanese with a sprinkling of expatriate caucasians and some communist Chinese tour groups rush in and literally, I kid you not, JUMP for joy! I did the same and I am not ashamed to tell you this, Ha! Ha! Then it is photo taking time with Eeyore, Robin Hood the Fox, Friar Tuck, Winnie the Pooh and many other favourite characters!

The parades at Disneyland are gorgeous and wait till I tell you about the seaborne parades and shows at Tokyo Disney Sea! The brightly illuminated seaborne floats in Porto Paradiso are the most stunning and spectacular I have ever seen!

Gorgeous Gourmet Cuisine!

Many gourmet restaurants are here in Tokyo Disney Resort which is a suprise to some. One of my all time favourites is Magaellan’s. Here on the left of the elegant restaurant, you will see a wall of books…press the secret cunningly disguised button and the wall of books slides open to reveal a secret dining room surrounded by fine wines! OMG! Shades of James Bond 007!

To be continued…
