Martini stirred NOT shaken by Dr. Michael Lim The Travelling GourmetTM

MARTINIS, Lamponi and Monte Cristo cigars from Cuba.

I hate communists. My close friends and comrades fought & defeated them in many places…around the world. The only thing I like about Cuba are their cigars, like Monte Cristo No. 2…which is on offer in the NEWEST Bar in sunny Singapore…in their al fresco chill out area. No air con but remarkably coool…with svelte, courteous, tall and pretty Korean ladies to take your orders for cigars and cocktails and snacks which…are unlike those you’ll find in more mundane bars. For this is no ordinary bar…it is affliated with Javier de las Muelas, Spain’s famous Bartender. Not for him, the fancy Desigual-like clothes and wierd and wonderful hair styles and nose rings and eyebrow rings of some ‘mixologists’ trying to make a name for themselves. It proves my point that the really creative people DO NOT need wierd green hair and outlandish behaviour. All that is for the ‘wannabees’ that never quite cut it…Javier is a very bright gentleman, modest and very skilled in all the luscious liquid concoctions that make people happy and relaxed…

Classsic Dry MARTINI…

I made this with mi amigo Javier de Muelas with Bombay Sapphire Gin…stirred not shaken as it should be…VERY dry…with an emerald green olive. One Ninety Javier de las Meulas Bar in the Four Seasons Singapore is the “IN” place to ‘chill out’ and “snack up” from 08:00 to 01:00 on the following day!  On the right is irrepressible & intrepiod Dr. Michael Lim who is The Travelling GourmetTM…”I prefer my Martini very wet, stirred…not shaken.”

Mi amigo Javier de las Muelas classic very Dry Martini is crafted with Bombay Sapphire Gin…STIRRED not shaken as it should be! My marvellous Martini shimmered like a De Beers diamond…Javier told me candidly: …the other way is only for the Americanos…Bravo Javier! {{Ian Fleming got it wrong…as all professional Barmen know…to maintain the jewel like clarity, it must be caressed like a beautiful woman and stirred slowly…}}

When you want to chill out in style…head for the Four Seasons new One Ninety Javier de las Muelas Bar… Dr. Michael Lim esta El Gastronomo Viajhero…you may or may not recognise me there…if I’m undercover…
