MARRIOTT’S Flint Bar & Grill…the amusing signs and sayings intrigued and amused me no end in this grill and steakhouse.  The other thing I liked was my Rambo-like steak knife with a wood handle that looked more like an Al Mar designed hunting knife. The decor is very warm with lots of wood and dark wood slatted floorboards. Interior designers term this índustrial chic””.

On the day that I was there to have lunch, I covertly observed the Executive Chef, Stephen Doe, who is very on the ball, meticulously checking every dish before sending it out to the diners.

Healthy and very flavoursome is the Caesar Salad with tart 24 month old parmigiano, Roomaine lettuce hearts as crisp as potato crisps and crunch-crunch satisfying Croutons!

I need a JUICY Steak!

A nice appetiser is Orecchiette with US Scallop, White Tomato and Manchego Cheese from Spain. I loved the meaty, juicy 10 ounze Char Grilled Rib Eye Steak! Done ‘Medium’ so it is lovely and pink in the middle! With some Pommery Whole Grain Mustard and flavoursome Herb Steak Sauce plus Gratin Tomato. Burger fiends won’t be able to resist the King Kong size Iberico Pork Burger! It is BIG! The burger has Smoked spicy Chipotle, Arugula (Rocket leaves), sweet-sour Apple Compote and French Fries spiked aromatic Rosemary and spicy Paprika. The meat is tender Iberico pork from Spain. Yummy in my tummy!

A devilishly delicious dessert is SMORE. This is Moulleaux aux Chocolat with oozing luscious molten chocolate inside with Marshmallow Graham Cracker Ice Cream and luscious Poached Cherries. Mille Feuille features ueber-crispy Puff Pastry layered with piquant Mango Creme Anglais and lashings of Coconut Sauce!
