The inspiring and debonair Travelling gourmet sees a comedy movie on a nice SIA flight to Hong Kong…
MARVELLOUS and hilarious romp in opulent art deco style in the fictitious Balkan country of Zowbrowka. Great acting by ‘Casanova’ Ralph Fiennes (the new “M” in the 007 films) who has clearly put his torrid scandalous sexual romp in the Quantas jet 35,000ft ASL with Lisa Robertson, a sizzling hot blond Quantas flight stewardess…far behind him. They joined the ‘mile-high club’ on board QF123 -17 Feb 2007’s flight from Darwin to Bombay…
Ralph Fiennes as a senior MI6/SIS officer in the james Bond movie “Skyfall”
The stewardess was not only a sometime fille de joie but also an undercover policewoman in Sydney before joining Quantas.
Lisa Robertson
Lisa Robertson poses in a rauchy outfit…I don’t blame Ralph Fiennes for ,Liebe auf den ersten Blick’ (love at first sight)
Wonderful acting and great chemistry amongst the actors especially between the Concierge and his protege Zero, the lowly Lobby Boy who ends up owning the hotel! Great action sequences too and a very comic shoot out where all the people are such bad shots! It all starts with the villain pulling out his Walther PPK 7.65mm pistol (yes, James Bond’s preferred pistol) from an ankle holster…A great number of shots are fired but no one hits anything! Different characters pull out their guns and start blasting away! The Remarkable Courtesan au Chocolat 3 tier cake is so scrumptious it is to kill for…much like the priceless painting “Boy with Apple”. The only thing I did not like was the unnecessary bad language and four letter words. I personally think that the Concierge Gustav H. would never swear, curse and use four letter words. It is simply not in his character. Bizarre!

Daniel Dafoe’s character as Jopling, the sinister black clad evil hit-man/henchman with perpetual spiky knuckle dusters on both hands is charmingly camp and diabolically deadly in a cheesey way. An actor who really loves his craft; see him at this link as a CIA Special Activities Division officer in the movie “A clear and present Danger” shooting a Colt Commando 5.56mm assault rifle…
This hilarious movie is a memorable story of intrigue, murder, treachery, deceit, good fortune, greed, lust, debauchery and very yummy cakes from Mendl’s patisserie in Lutz…hand made by the fair Agatha. I want to taste the Courtesan au Chocolat cake! Zero the Lobby Boy is madly in love with Agatha. The Lobby Boy’s uniform with military style Pillbox gold braided hat is remarkably similar, almost identical to the uniform of the Bell Boys in the notable and luxurious 5 Star Island Shangri-La Hotel in Hong Kong. I kid you not!
This humourous movie has what many movies lack…style and savoie faire! Review by Dr. Michael Lim The Travelling GormetTM Travel, Food and Wine Writer/Editor extraordinaire 🙂
