Hi my loyal subject, Lord Mick of Northamptonshire here. I really enjoyed this article about Raffles as I feel the same as you, pretentious , aloof and in another world ( and not a nice one) is how I find Raffles these days. I remember all those years ago when we had the experiment of me walking unchallenged into Raffles wearing shorts 🙂 I actually prefer and say my favourite hotel in Singapore is the Fullerton. Their service level is unbelievable and the make better Singapore Slings than Raffles. Keep the faith and keep on writing,
