An extra 10 rooms have been added and a whole new floor too, to the venerable Old Parsonage Hotel. I went there to try the food in the restaurant which interestingly has not changed very much, except for the furniture. As you may have guessed from the quaint name, it was a Parsonage, hence my joke about prayers…
Gemma, the Manager was very helpful, and Rebecca Mofford, the GM, arranged for me to tour the new facilities and rooms before dinner. I liked the Library and the posh Gazebo in the courtyard. The newly renovated rooms have underfloor heating in the bathroom and heated mirrors that do not fog up after a bath. I thought the new decor was quite tasteful. The suites are equipped with Nespresso coffee machines. I am sure George Clooney would like that, Ha! Ha!
