The intrepid and indomitable Travelling Gourmet TM boards an Airbus A380 to London…
MOST certainly the first thing that strikes me is that the British Airways flight stewardess are a big contrast to the young, charming, pretty and svelte flight stewardesses of SIA…Of course they are nice too…in a grandmotherly kind of way.

1232 Italy Time
Somewhere over Europe…
I’ve had a Chicken and Coriander Wrap and a Bacon and Egg Brioche…not too bad actually. Lots of green coriander leaves in the wrap. To drink…coffee, Tomato, Apple and Orange juices from concentrate and water. I feel quite jolly and there are blue skies and cotton wool fluffy clouds outside…My neighbour is a horizontally challenged (fat) Italian who kept fighting for the armrest with me…I won! Ha! Ha!
I’ve arrived in London…poor signage and a very long walk to go to level 2, so as to take the monorail to the South Terminal from the North Terminal. No luggage trolleys at all like in Singapore’s Changi International Airport. There was a very long queue to get through Immigration. One of the staff had to stop people going to the Immigration Hall to try to allow the long queue to clear. A fat Russian became angry and started complaining loudly. The queue was especially long for UK & EU citizens. Ha! How ironic!
After getting my suitcase, I went for a restful sojourn in Caffè Nero where I enjoyed a hot Grande Cafe Latte for €2.70, but the blonde Hungarian trainee Barista kept making mistakes with my order…like the classic movie ‘Cool Hand Luke’. What we’ve got here is…failure to communicate’. She was quite pretty…but not so capable.
When it comes to beauty versus brains…I prefer brains because beauty fades…
