The irreverent and inspiring Travelling Gourmet TM taste tests the cuisine of…
MICHELIN starred Chef Daniel Boulud in Bostro Moderne D B…Only in town for 3 days, Chef Daniel stopped by to chat as I tried his Menu Degustation…like what he serves in his celebrated restaurant called Daniel in New York. Although he is old school, you do not see much Molecular Gastronomy touches in his recipes. To me that is excellent because too much Molecular is horrible! Daniel is not overweight like many old school Chefs and only has a slight belly paunch. As well as the cuisine, his many books were on sale and he kindly autographed his latest and very well illustrated book called “My Best” for me. We chuckled about the Happy New Year card we had each received from our mutual friend, Masterchef Paul Bocuse, in which Paul wrote about how his teacher in Primary school used to hit him a lot with a wooded stick, and then told him, “Paulo you have a hard head!”
Chef Jonathan Kinsella is a very good Chef, and so is Pastry Chef Benjamin Siwek who makes the most delectable mini Madeleines which you can also take away! My friend, the GM Chris Williams is a very likeable gentleman. One of my favourites here is the Bouillabaise and the Mussels in a big bowl.
Please see also my related article about Bar Boulud in London in the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park!
Go on, treat yourself to good food! Life is short! Enjoy! 🙂
