The audacious and debonair Travelling Gourmet TM tries Zonin wines from sunny Italy in…

MUCH liked Italian restaurant in Suntec City called District 10…Delicious food and fine wines were the order of the evening! Wines from Zonin in the Veneto region of Italy were matched with yummie food! I helped Chef Luca who was born in Sicilia, with carving the Wagyu Beef. I made sure I cut an extra big slice for myself, wahaha!

My friends, the Zonin brothers, are not only very successful Winemakers, they are also Bankers in the Veneto region! I love to visit their winery and taste their wines. The last occasion was in April 2015 when I served as a Wine Judge in the 20th Concorso Enologico Internazionale Vinitaly, one of the wine world’s largest wine competitions. There are many statues outside the cellars, and one in particular always brings to mind a very hilarious true story. Some years ago when I was also a Wine Judge in the Concorso Enologico Internazionale, I was visiting Zonin when I noticed a journalist called Beatrice from Argentina in South America getting wine corks and…then putting them on top of the genitals of a handsome male statue in the garden. Then she started taking photos! My fellow Wine Judge from Tokyo Japan called Yoshi took photos of her taking photos of the statue with the corks. We laughed till our bellies ached!!!

To be continued…
