The suave and debonair Travelling Gourmet TM reveals Singapore Airlines latest…

MASTERSTROKE when it comes to cuisine and beverage options on First Class, Business and Economy. It was rolled out on long haul flights to Australia and Europe on April 7th, 2016! What is this brilliant innovation then? In a nutshell, it is their NEW “Deliciously Wholesome” meals!

OMG Yummie!

In recent years people have realised more and more the inestimable value of good health because as an ancient sage put it, “True Wealth is good Health!” Now healthy salads, rich in nutrients like magnesium and potassium are on offer. Beverages like Almond Milk and electrolyte rich Coconut Juice are also on the menu on the world’s best airline! Nutritionist Ms. Mayura Mohta reviewed the recipes while the 8 celebrated Chefs of the International Culinary Panel worked on the healthy YET absolutely delicious dishes! I have tried almost all of them and I can assure you, Scouts Honour, that they are truly “Deliciously Wholesome”!!

At the VIP Tasting with SIA’s energetic and charming Vice President of Inflight Services, Angeline Khoo!

Take for instance my good friend 3 Michelin Star Chef Georges Blanc’s juicy Citrus Steamed Sea Bass Fillet that is protein-rich as well as chock full of Omega 3 and Omega 6 polyunsaturated essential fatty acids..YUMMIE! I also adored Beetroot Stained Gravadlax comprising Nordic Salmon and tangy Beetroot marinade. Asians will love Double-Boiled Herbal Chicken Soup with crisp Bamboo Pith and earthy Shitake Mushrooms which are full of Vitamin D.

People now shun high sugar desserts but even the most health conscious passenger will not be able to say no to…sexy and silky Tofu Cheesecake with Citrus Compote and fresh Strawberries. OMG! Yum! Yum!

With svelte and charismatic Betty Wong, DVP Customer Experience who is forever young!

First and Business Class passengers can also “Book The Cook” and order their choice of healthy yet yummie dishes before their flight. SIA even got Wedgewood to produce bespoke porcelain ware for the meals! As Michelangelo said: Trifles make perfection and perfection is no trifle.

Ah, SIA, you have done it again! Bravo! This concept is long overdue. With this, food lovers, you can eat your cake and still have it!

Eat healthy and stay happy and healthy on land and in the air! What can I say…SIA you are simply the BEST!

Bon appétit! Stay Healthy, Eat Well!
