The audacious and debonair Travelling Gourmet TM jets to Da Nang in Vietnam where just over 53 years ago…

MARINES from the 9th Marine Expeditionary Brigade landed in Da Nang on 8 March 1965 at 08:15 to be the frst American ground troops in Vietnam. Now all is peaceful…and the terrible Vietnam war is all but forgotten. Today, Da Nang is a modern and hriving metropolisof high rise buildings and many hotels spas and restaurants. The modern high tech airport used to be the air base so fiercely fought over now connects Da Nang with the world. Sweeping tree-lined broad boulevards and impressive futuristic bridges frame the city.

Where I am staying in the salubrious and luxurious Hyatt Regency Da Nang, I feel very relaxed and comfortable. My titanim Breitling woke me at 06:00 and I jogged to the beach to see the sunrise over the swaying coconut trees and white sandy beaches of Da Nang. Breakfast in the exclusive Regency Club s lavish with the biquitous Pho Boor Beef Noodle Soup with Basil and Mint and freshly squeezed Lime Juice plus a Salmon Omeltte a la minute, ot roissants and Cheese and bacon and Sausages and Cucumber Juice and Yoghut and Muesli and more…much more! Yummie! Keep Calm and carry on eating!
