MORNING Opening Ceremony of Food Hotel Asia and Prowine Asia which celebrates its 40th Ruby Anniversary on 24 April, 2018 at Suntec. The Guest of Honour was Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry Dr. Koh Poh Koon.

Jime Essink, President of UBM Asia said, ” FHA will also feature its largest ever showing with 3503 exhbitors from 76 countries, as well as an estimated 78,000 attendees.”

In an exclusive interview with Dr. Michael Lim The Travelling Gourmet TM I asked Jime Essink, “Why the split into two separate trade shows for FHA in 2020 in Singapore?

Jime Essink explained candidly, “The size! We are already fully booked this year at two venues, Suntec and Expo. FHA is a leading exhibition and food is a growing industry in Asia! In 2020 FHA will expand into two dedicated shows. FHA-HoReCa will be held on 3-6 March 2020. Ho-Re-Ca stands for Hotel, Restaurant, Cafe. FHA- Food and Beverage on 31 March – 3 April 2020.”

Hans Werner Reinhard, MD of Messe Duesseldorf Group remarked, ” In the global drinks market, the wine segment is the third largest and worldwide revenue of wine is expected to reach USD172 billion by 2021. However, global attention is shifting to Asia. In 2016, wine sales in Asia amounted to USD93.3 billion or 6.1 billion litres and through to 2021, it is forecast to grow 3.9% per annum in volume terms.”
