MILAN is one of may favourite cities in Italy and strolling into Menotti recently, I had to pinch myself to make sure I was awake because it was as if I had been transported to a coffee bar and bistro in Milan. The jazz music and red and purple decor made me feel right at home. I expected the waiter to say, ‘Buona sera, Signor!’ I love the desserts here especially the Sicilian style ones lovingly made by the Italian Chef. It came as no suprise to me to learn that the Boss is also Italian. Relax and chill out here after a show till the late hours with a cup of hot Venezuelan Chocolate, and perhaps a Baba au Rhum in the Italian style with lashings of strong aromatic rum. I love it. Vesuvio is one of my favourite sweet treats served in spectacular fashion at table side with flaming dark rum..lots of rum!! It is a mini ‘Baked Alaska’ with ice cream and Amarena cherries inside. They also have meals which I haven’t tried yet, but I will…and later I shall detail my experiences. Check it out when you are in sunny Singapore, the gastronomic capital of Asia. If we don’t have it here in this island paradise, it is simply not worth eating.
